Make a Snowflake!

Pretty Snowflakes with no Scissors or Scraps

If you are bored on a snow day, here’s an activity that can keep you (and/or the kiddos) busy for hours — go to the Make-A-Flake web site and design your own snowflakes.

You can save the results as JPEG files, in case you want to use them in projects. (Or visit the gallery, and save other peoples’ snowflakes, if you like their designs better!)

If you go back to the welcome screen immediately after saving a snowflake, you will see your snowflake, along with other recent creations, swirling past the window panes.

One last hint — the FOLDED EDGE of the paper becomes the center of the “arm” of your snowflake. Focus on doing your main design on ONE folded edge if you want a traditional, 6-arm snowflake.
