Tone-on-Tone Winter Wreath
This year, I made some yarn-wrapped winter themed wreaths for some of my relatives. But deep down, I really wanted one of my own.
So I made two more — one for my office and one for home. The first one was this multi-tonal ivory and tan assemblage. It is made of trim scraps, buttons, felt flowers, spiral roses made from recycled sweaters, felt balls, yarn poms, and various baubles. Nestled in the middle is a slightly sparkly snowbird (an 80%-off Christmas ornament from a local shop.)
The second was more like the other ones I already made — a variegated gray backdrop and a gray-black-ivory-maroon color scheme.
Someone asked me about the yarn I used for these. It was on sale at my local craft store, and is a thick, chunky, bumpy-textured yarn: Country Loom Loops and Threads. A lot of the yarn wreaths I’ve seem are smooth, but I really wanted a texture closer to knitted sweaters for my cozy wintertime wreaths.
